Few in the Black & Latin community know that Dr Yosef Ben-Jochannan was of Hispanic descent. His mother was a Puerto Rican Jew from Carolina, Puerto Rico. Dr Ben devoted his life to Black studies and provided countless contributions to the conscious community in regard to the history of Blacks. Prior to his passing he appeared in front of the Nation Of Islam and announced that he would donate his personal library to Minister Farrakhan which consisted of thousands of books, some dating as far back as the 16th century.
Dr Ben authored over 39 books including We the Black Jews & Blackman of the Nile. His contribution to black history is boundless and his works are read throughout the world. For many in the Black conscious community his books serve as reference points of Black origins and culture. The fact that Dr Ben was a dark-skinned Puerto Rican/Ethiopian is a wonderful revelation. A lot of awareness of the Black struggle came from dark Hispanics who had access to literature and knowledge that was concealed from Blacks in the United States. Interestingly, there are many Black Puerto Ricans on the island as there are Black Latins all over the continent but media propaganda mostly depicts the fair skinned Latins as the face of the people. Had it not been for Black Latins like Dr Ben a lot of knowledge that was handed down would have remained in the dark. He as well as others saw beyond the Latin tongue & attempted to unite Black people globally.

Wow! I love this Man so much. I still have his 1972 edition of the Black Man of the Nile and His Family. How many people actually know this. I always thought he was African!
There is noticeably a bundle to know about this. I assume you made certain nice points in features also.
