THE BED-TIME STORY OF THE BOOGEY MAN IS A POKE AT THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF INDONESIA!

THE BOOGIE MAN

The infamous bedtime story passed down from generation to generation is really in relation to the Bugi tribe men of the Indonesia Islands. The Bugi Man is the term used to describe the pirates who would terrorize European sailors who would come to pillage the islands. In the famous movie March of the Wooden Soldiers the “Boogeyman” or Bugi Man is depicted as monster looking creatures wearing tribal Hula type skirts. If one analyzes the hidden layers it is evident what is being implied.

MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS

Upon anaylzing the movie, it can be pointed out that the “Boogie Man” or “Bugi Man” was defeated by “Toy Soldiers” or “Wooden Soldiers”. A clear slap in the face to indigenous people when it is subtly implied that they were eventually defeated by not even the best of Europe’s army, they couldn’t get past the “Toy Soldiers”. A similar theme is played in the movie Avatar in that the natives were outwitted by a European man who was handicapped and had no use of his legs. Not only did he deceive them but he also became their hero and leader though he ‘couldn’t stand on solid ground’ The natives are always outsmarted by even the dumbest & weakest of Europe is a plot that constantly plays subconsciously in Hollywood scripts!
